Can I pay for my order over the phone?
We are unable to process orders over the phone. All orders placed on our website are encrypted through 3rd party services such as Stripe or Paypal. We do not see or store your payment details.
Can I place a custom order?
Customization is not available.
Will you notify me when a specific product is back in stock?
Yes. If an item is out of stock, click the “Notify Me” button on the product page and enter your email address. You’ll receive one automatic email as soon as the item is back in stock — and you won’t be added to our marketing list unless you check that option when you sign up.
I have a question about an order I placed. Can I speak with someone?
Please email us your order number and what your concern is, and we will respond within 24 hours, usually much sooner.
About our wool
What wool is best for needle felting?
Carded wool felts fastest, so most needle felters sculpt with carded batts like our Maori wool. Build the inside of 3D pieces with inexpensive Corriedale core wool, and use extra-fine Merino top for surface details, fur effects, and color blending. Browse all Fiber Arts supplies.
What does “micron” mean?
Micron measures the thickness of individual wool fibers — the lower the number, the finer and softer the wool. Our Merino wool tops run 19–22 microns (extra fine, soft enough to wear), Maori carded wool is 27 microns, and Corriedale core wool is 29.5 microns.
Where does your wool come from?
Our Merino is from South American sheep farms, then processed in Europe, and dyed with OEKO-TEX certified dyes. All of our wool is mulesing-free. Our Maori carded wool comes from New Zealand farms and is carded and dyed in Tuscany, Italy.
Are your dyes safe for children and classrooms?
Yes. Our dyed wools use OEKO-TEX certified dyes, which are independently tested to be free of harmful substances and safe for skin contact — a common requirement for schools and products made for children.
Do you sell wool in bulk or by the pound?
Yes. We sell extra-fine Merino combed top by the pound in 50+ colors, and Corriedale wool top. There is a one-pound minimum for the bulk wool. We ship from our warehouse in Idaho, USA usually in 1–2 business days. See the Bulk Wool collection.
Can I see the colors before buying a full pound?
Yes — order up to 5 free color swatches; you pay only the actual low shipping cost. It is the best way to check colors, since screens may display colors differently. Order free swatches here.
How much wool do I need for a project?
As a rough guide: a palm-sized needle-felted sculpture uses about 0.5–1 oz of wool over a core; classroom projects run about 0.5 oz per student; and a pound of combed top spins into roughly 1,400–2,000 yards of fingering-weight yarn.
Hairbrushes
Which hairbrush is right for my hair type?
As a rule of thumb: fine to normal hair does well with our classic stiff boar bristle brush; thick or long hair needs the longer, stiffer bristles of the Calcutta Max; for blow-drying, choose the vented boar bristle brush; and for sensitive scalps or gentle detangling, the wood pin brush feels like a scalp massage. Why boar bristle instead of plastic?
Natural boar bristles pick up the scalp’s own natural oils and carries them down the hair shaft as you brush — conditioning the hair and adding shine, without the need to add extra product. Plastic bristles can damage hair; boar bristle condition and strengthen.
How do I clean a boar bristle hairbrush?
Lift out loose hair regularly. When the brush needs a real wash, swish the bristles briefly in mild water with a bit of shampoo — bristles facing down, keeping the wooden handle from soaking in the water — then let it air dry with the bristles facing down.

Caring for wool
How do I wash wool or sheepskin?
Gently. Use cool to lukewarm water and a lanolin-rich wool wash, squeeze suds through without wringing, rinse at the same temperature, and dry flat away from direct sun and heat. Always check the care label first — spot-clean sheepskin unless it is marked washable. Our Wool Care collection has everything you need.
