A heavyweight bed blanket woven from real alpaca and sheep wool at a family-run mill in the Peruvian Andes. Warm enough for cold nights, breathable enough that you won’t wake up sweaty, and reversible, with a different stripe arrangement on each side in natural Earth Tones.
Real alpaca and sheep wool, no synthetic fill
- A 50/50 blend of alpaca and Peruvian sheep wool (Merino and Dorset breeds), woven from fiber sourced directly from Andean farmers.
- No acrylic and no polyester fill. Only the edge binding is polyester, for strength.
- Alpaca gives it a softness you won’t find in a regular wool blanket. The sheep wool adds loft, body and natural lanolin.
Heavyweight, breathable and reversible
- Wool traps heat without trapping moisture, so you stay warm without overheating.
- Both sides are brushed for a soft, lofty nap, and each side shows a different stripe arrangement, so you can flip it to change the look of the bed.
- Use it on its own on cool nights, layer it over a comforter, or take it to the cabin.

Each blanket is woven in small batches, so size and weight vary slightly between production runs.
What to expect from real wool
Your blanket arrives with a natural alpaca and sheep wool scent that fades within a couple of weeks. That’s the scent of wool that hasn’t been heavily processed or chemically deodorized. It has a textured wool feel, not the slippery softness of synthetic fleece, and some natural shedding at first that lessens with time and use. These are signs of real wool, not defects.
Easy care
- Air it out and spot clean as needed.
- To wash, use a large tub or your machine’s gentle cycle with no agitation, cool water, and a mild wool wash. We recommend Outback Gold Wool Wash. Soaking for about 30 minutes adds extra softness and helps the natural wool scent fade.
- Lay flat to dry away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry.
- Dry cleaning is also fine.
