NOTE: The brushes on this page are discounted only because of grain patterns in the wood that make it look different than what is shown in the detail photo, or the engraving might not be perfect. The brush itself is in perfect condition. The brush is brand new.

  • The PWW hairbrush is a full size paddle brush that is 2.5" wide (brush area) x 9" (total length) and is natural wooden bristle made from the solid wood of the Hornbeam tree, which is also known as Ironwood.
  • Crafted in Germany's Black Forest at a family shop that's been making high quality hairbrushes for over 100 years.
  • The wood pins are firmly set into a flexible cushioned base - thus providing the ultimate scalp massage with rounded, smooth bristles that will glide through all hair types while distributing natural oils down the hair shaft. The air hole in the cushion is the secret to allowing the brush to gently massage the scalp.
  • Handle is made from beautiful pear wood native to Germany. The wood is naturally dark and is not stained, but is only oiled for natural beauty and durability. Butterfly and "made in GERMANY" are engraved into the wood for lasting beauty.
  • Brushing with a wooden brush is a refreshing and invigorating experience. Wood is naturally anti-static and will calm fly away hair. Wood also does not conduct heat, so brush will remain cool if used during blow drying. Can also be used on wet towel dried hair.

The Brush:
Long ago in Germany's Black Forest - home to folklore and fairy tales - a brush maker began crafting the world's finest brushes. Today, his family legacy continues in the same German village it began, under the timeless watch of the Black Forest. The family's dedication to quality has never wavered. Their selection and processing of locally grown wood for the brush handles, preparation and precision cutting of the bristles, to the completion of the final product, the generations of pride are evident in every brush.

The Bristles:
The rounded wood pins come from the Hornbeam tree grown in the forests of Italy and Poland. This particular wood is so hard and strong, it is also known as Ironwood.

All wood used in creating this brush have been certified as eco-friendly by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), an international organization promoting sustainability and responsible management of the world's forests.

Natural Hair Care:
The rounded wood pins in the soft rubber base gently massage the scalp and increase circulation, while distributing natural oils throughout the hair. Brushing with a wooden brush is a refreshing and invigorating experience. Be sure to back brush your hair for maximum benefit. Wood is naturally anti-static and will calm fly away hair. Wood also does not conduct heat, so the brush will remain cool if used during blow drying.

Another high quality product from Desert Breeze Distributing - a name you can trust.

    Amazing Brush!

Posted by Cindy Foskey on Mar 8th 2023

I love this brush! Every other wooden pin bristle brush I’ve used has always pulled out my hair. This one does not at all! I use it for blowdrying and not a single hair is in the brush. Do yourself a favor and invest in this awesome brush. The quality of all the brushes I have received from this company is extraordinary!

Outlet Brush Just Fine For Me

Posted by Cindy on Oct 30th 2021

I took a chance on the Outlet version of this brush. It is not all one light color with a dark butterfly as the full price version shows. Instead, mine is much darker with a black vein down one side. Looks more like walnut. My butterfly didn't print evenly and is faded a lot on one side and is so light it looks gold. The fine print does say that the discounted brushes will have problems with the butterfly or darker colors of wood. I tend to "toss" my brush into a basket and it has left a few light scratches on the brush now. If you are really wanting a perfect brush, you might want to get the lighter full price brush that won't show scratches as much. I'm fine with this one though. PS, the pointed pins give a wonderful "scratch" to the head, unlike my old ball-on-the-end pinned brush. The brush is super lightweight and much better quality than you would normally get. Its a 5 star "seconds" brush, but I give it 4 stars because the butterfly is super old-fashioned and should be removed to look classier.

This brush is great for brushing through my thick hair easily even when very tangled or wet. Very sturdy construction, and the pins - firmly embedded in the air cushion - are gentle and comfortable on the scalp. The pear wood handle is beautifully crafted, smooth, lightweight and easy to hold. The brush was discounted due to a small ding on the back of the brush that was barely detectable and a darker grain to the wood.

I have fine, flyaway hair, and this brush is fantastic for detangling and taming between zoom meetings. I love it.

Best Wood Hair Brush Worth the Money

Posted by Maureen on Nov 23rd 2020

I have had two wood hair brushes, one made in Italy called Widu and a Bass bamboo brush. This brush is dramatically better than either, as the pins are smaller in diameter and provide an excellent massage of my scalp.
