Corriedale Wool Roving, 10 Colors, 1/2 oz (14 g) Each
Needle felting wool in ten popular, vibrant colors, with a generous 1/2 oz (14 g) of each. This set holds Snow, Cloud, Sand, Gold, Cinnamon, Red, Lilac, Indigo, Forest and Black, 5 oz (140 g) in all, each color in its own labeled bag inside a sturdy white box.
The wool: 100% Corriedale from New Zealand and Australia, mulesing-free. Corriedale was developed in New Zealand in the late 1800s from Merino and Lincoln sheep. It is a medium wool, about 27 micron, with a long staple, good spring and a soft natural sheen. It is combed smooth and dyed in Tuscany, Italy with OEKO-TEX approved dyes.
How to use it: Corriedale felts easier than Merino. Because this is combed top, the fibers lie parallel. For needle felting, pull off a small tuft and fluff it before you felt. For wet felting, lay out thin wisps in crossing layers. For hand spinning, draft straight from the top. It is also lovely for weaving and small fiber art details. For large needle felted sculptures, build the shape with our Corriedale core wool (sold separately) and cover it with color.
About the colors: this is real dyed wool, so shades can vary slightly from one dye lot to the next. Store it dry in its bags, away from direct sun.
