Merino wool top in 50+ colors, one boxed ounce at a time. It’s soft, fine combed top for needle felting, wet felting, nuno felting, spinning and weaving. Pick just the colors you need, or choose By the Pound above for bigger projects.
About this wool
- 19 to 22 microns, with a 58 to 70 mm (2.3 to 2.75 in) staple. It drafts smoothly, felts quickly and spins to an even yarn.
- Responsibly sourced. Grown on South American farms and processed in Europe. Mulesing-free, and like all wool, renewable and biodegradable.
- Dyed with OEKO-TEX certified dyes.
- Packed in Idaho. Our team pulls each ounce from the top by hand (it’s never cut) and packs it in a clear box in Rupert, Idaho.
How much do I need?
A palm-sized needle-felted figure takes about 1/2 to 1 oz of merino over a core wool base. For classroom projects, plan on about 1/2 oz per student.
Good to know
We’ve matched the photos to the wool as closely as we can, but dye lots vary a little and every screen shows color its own way. This wool is very clean, but it’s a natural fiber, so you may find an occasional bit of plant matter.
