Combed Egyptian-type Makò cotton top in natural white. Makò is an extra-long-staple cotton, the classification made famous along the Nile Valley, and those longer fibers are what set it apart: a smoother, more cohesive sliver with fewer stray ends, that drafts evenly and spins into fine, strong, lustrous yarns.
Soft, breathable, and highly absorbent, it is a lovely plant fiber for spinners and blenders. Cotton does not felt on its own, but it shines as a surface accent in wet and nuno felting, and adds a cool, matte touch when blended into wool batts.
