Tencel™ lyocell top in bright white. Tencel is a modern plant-based fiber made from eucalyptus cellulose in a closed-loop process that recovers nearly all of its solvent and uses a fraction of the water of conventional fibers — one of the most sustainable ways to get a silk-like fiber, and fully biodegradable.
The fiber itself is velvety, glossy, and drapey, more absorbent than cotton, and famously brilliant in the dye pot — hand-dyers get vivid, silk-like color without the silk price. Use it for shine in blended batts and art yarns, as a vegan silk substitute, or spin it on its own for high-luster yarn.
